Admissions FAQ

What grades do you serve?    
We serve preschool through eighth grade.

What are the school's hours?
The school day is from 8:15am - 3:00 pm.

Is there before and after school care?
Before school care begins at 7:15 a.m. After school programming runs from 3:15 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. There is a $3/hr fee.

How many students are in the school?
Currently, 173 students are enrolled in PK - 8th grade..

How many students are in each classroom?
Our average class size is 18 students.

What is tuition and when is it paid?
For the 2022-2023 school year, preschool tuition is $5400 and K - 8 tuition is $4400 per student before financial assistance.
Tuition is divided into ten monthly payments due August 10 - May 10.

Is there financial assistance available?
The school offers need-based financial assistance.  If you would like to apply, please access the online application at FACTS Tuition Aid. There is a $40 fee for the FACTS application.  Please note that to be considered for any scholarship, you must complete the  FACTS application.

Invest in Kids Act where scholarships are awarded based on family need.  You can apply at all three of these sites when they open in January.  The scholarship granting organizations will contact you for additional information as scholarship funds become available:

Are there other fees?
There is a $25 fee per application.  The registration fee is $75 per family (nonrefundable). The student resources and activity fee is $150 per student for grades K - 8, $50 for PK

What extracurricular programs are there?
Students participate in music, art, athletics, and Chicago Run.  There are a variety of after school clubs, when available.

How do you address students’ special needs?
Teachers tailor lessons for each child’s individual needs. Students needing additional help in math participate in our Title I Program. The school's reading interventionist works with students who have been identified as needing additional support in reading. Small group tutoring during school helps strengthen students’ skills.

Do you have a hot lunch program?
The school offers a daily hot lunch program. Families can apply for reduced-price and free lunches using the National Hot Lunch application forms available in the office.

Do you provide transportation?
We do not provide transportation. We are accessible by city bus routes.

What kind of Christian School is CWSCS?
CWSCS seeks to equip young people to lead and serve in Jesus’ name so they can make a difference in the world. Students study God’s Word and learn about God’s amazing world. CWSCS helps students understand that God continues to work in history and culture and encourages students to become creative problem solvers with a heart for service.
